A spectacular view of the turquoise-green Lech river

You can enjoy watching the soaring Alps on our fascinating Treetop Trail. The impressive wooden construction takes you through the treetops of the alluvial forest of the Lech river for 480 metres. At a height of up to 21 metres, you can enjoy a bird's eye view and even cross the border between Bavaria (GER) and Tyrol (AUT) with a deliberate step.
Our Treetop Trail, which was opened in 2013, is truly transnational. The larch construction is supported by four solid pillars, whose foundations reach down to a depth of 14 metres. Nevertheless, the architecture appears light and blends naturally into the alluvial forest.
The border between Germany and Austria lies in the middle of the route of the Treetop Trail: two larch boards on the wooden bridge are marked with the white and blue flag of Bavaria and the Tyrolean national colours red and white. Take one single step and you will find yourself in another country.

Entrance fee:

Adults (over 16 years) 5.00 Euro
Groups (at least 10 persons) 4.00 Euro per Person
Children & adolescents (under 15 years) free admission
People with disabilities free admission upon presentation of a disability certificate
Also accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.

Start into the Treetop Trail

The delicate wooden structure starts between the exhibition building and the restrooms. The entrance can easily be recognised by the information and ticket booth right next to it. In the high season, the Treetop Trail can also be explored starting from the Tyrolean side. At the P2 parking lot, there is a small wooden information and ticket booth for this purpose.
With four spans of 80 to 100 metres in length, the freely swinging path invites you to stroll from one platform to the next. Here you can take a seat on one of our wooden benches, enjoy the view and experience an extraordinary moment of tranquillity between forest and sky.
The Treetop Trail is embedded in our forest-related educational concept: The exhibition "Our Forest", the adventure trails in the surroundings and the Forest Snack Bar turn your day into a relaxing, enjoyable and educational experience in nature.
